The Spring /Summer 2016 collections are well under way! Check out Styling Mrs Oliver's selection of easy to wear outfits from the designer shows that reflect the current trends. You might be able to buy these items when they are launched next season or perhaps use them as inspiration to create similar looks from the high street.
I will be posting our favourite items as the shows progress.
I love all the feminine lingerie inspired pieces coming through on the runways and particularly like this lace skirt worn back with a sporty sweat top from Burberry. This would be an easy outfit to put together using a vintage lace skirt with an over sized sweat top (I so wish Portobello Market was around the corner from me still). There is an abundance of lace and satin slip dresses on the catwalks, reminiscent of Kate Moss in the early 90's. She rocked the slip dress back then and was not shy about displaying her underwear either. This is another trend in itself coming through from recent designer's collections. If you've got it, flaunt it! If you are feeling shy or just too old for this look try layering lace, sheer dresses, tops and skirts with camisoles and slips for a more modest direction.
Joseph show cased the best selection of wrap, tie front dresses and skirts that are so simple and easy to wear. I am a loyal fan of Joseph and have always appreciated the labels no brainer signature monochrome palette. This season seems slightly more feminine and directional, I would be happy to own most of it! See more images from this range on the SMrsO blog!
